What attracted you to this project?
I feel like this is an important time in history and that my family could complete the four months and that we would be a strong and hard working family on the frontier.
What hobbies and interests do you have?
I enjoy target shooting and hunting and I like to work in my fathers work shop and work with my family on things like splitting wood and hiking.
What image do you have of pioneer living?
I think that it looks like a lot of work and that it would take a lot of cooperation between family and community.
What's the most challenging thing you and your family (or group) have experienced?
The most challenging thing that my family and I have experienced is we, my little brother being 5, and my other 2 brothers went to the washington coast and hiked for like 10 miles.
If you were chosen what do you think you would most miss about modern life?
The thing that I would miss the most would be either the washing machine and drier or my bed.
What qualities do you and your family have that make you suited to this experience?
We are a very close family and we work very hard. Plus we are simple people.
What skills do you have that may help you?
I work well with wood and I know how to work hard and get along with my parents and brothers
What would you hope to get out of the experience?
I hope to grow closer with my family and to learn how to live and work on a farm.
What do you think will be the most difficult challenge of pioneer life?
I think that the most difficult part will be getting up early and working hard throughout the day.
What skills would you like to learn from the experience?
I would like to learn how to raise and butcher animals.
We'd like you to tell us:
What interests you about this project?
The fact that I will be working hard and living off the land with my family.
Do you have any concerns about your participation?
None at all I am confident that my family and I can survive the four monthes and that we will do well.
How much do you know about your family history -- do you have pioneer roots?
None that I know of but I do have family that immigrated from Germany.
How did you hear about Frontier House?

Peoplemation
This is a peoplemation, called "Her Morning Elegance." It takes place on a bed and they are moving the sheets, pillows, and clothes between each photo to create the affect that she is moving around while still on her bed. It is supposed to look like she is having a dream, so she has eyes closed through the entire movie. This is actually a music video by Owen Lavie but the song is nothing to be proud of. Although they did a great job on the peoplemation video. After doing claymations in school I thought this was very cool and I realize just how much work it took to make this three and a half minute video. It is very cool when she falls into the water in her dream because they change the color of the sheets as she falls to make it look like she actually fell into the water. When you are watching you forget about the rest of the room and you watch the bed like a movie screen. Then at the end she wakes up and they just video it not peoplemation it. It is worth watching! Intimate Conversation Poem
Dear Grandma,
Remember when we used to go to the carnival,
We would walk around,
until we were hungry,
and then we would eat,
until we felt stuffed,
like the prizes we had won,
When we were full,
we would find the mirror room,
and you would laugh,
as I ran around into mirrors,
like a chicken with its head cut off.
But now you are too old,
and I have out grown that,
so all we have left is these memories.

This is Just to Say Poem
Dear Lovely Beloved Sister,
This is just to say that
I'm sorry that I ate the huge cookie on the table
It looked so delicious
I realize that you were probably saving it for the fair
I will tell you that it would have won first place
It was as good as hot chocolate on a rainy day
Oh and you added just the right amount of nuts
It was the best cookie I have ever had
It was so,
so,
so,
so,
so,
Scrumptious
Maybe you should make another one...
for the fair of course ;-)
